Potty Patch Reviews

I recently adopted a dog and found myself not so pleased with the maintenance it required and the fact that it relieves itself all over the house. So I decided to keep it outside all day until I could find a potential adopter. Then I saw this infomercial for the potty patch which totally solved my problem because I really love the dog but not the responsibilities came with it. This potty patch is just a patch of grass that kinda looks like a door mat. I just keep it in the bathroom and my dog knows where to go. The potty patch can hold several gallons of liquid so I don’t have to change it until the end of the day. And at the end of the day I just dump the litter from the potty patch in the toilet. And if he poops I just wash it off with soapy water. The grass is made of synthetic and was designed to create an odor free scent even after he uses it. It’s great because He feels comfortable using the potty patch because it reminds him of grass. And it took a lot less time to potty train him because of that. The amazing thing is that the grass doesn’t get wet; the liquid just seeps through to the bottom of the patch.

I can go out all day and leave the dog in the house without having to worry about coming home to litter stains. My dog never has accidents. And I don’t have to take a special walk for him to relieve himself – Which is especially annoying in extreme weather cases like the cold winter and the hot heat of summer. Even though there is grass on the yard I keep one on the patio as well I like my dog to get used to the idea of the patch and want him to associate littering with the patch.

The potty patch works for cats as well. My little cousins were begging their mom for a kitten and she, like most moms, did not want cat litter all over her rugs, couches and wooden floors. So I introduced her to the Potty Patch which was when she agreed to buy a cat on condition that the potty patch proved positive results. Sure enough 5 days later the kitten is potty trained and everyone is left satisfied.

    Unfortuately I was not happy with the Potty Patch at all. I was very excited when I recieved it because I thought it would put an end to the disposable piddle pads … well, I’m back to using the pads and out $50. I have a small 7 pound pomeranian and by the end of the second day the Patch smelled horrendous … I didn’t realize that you need to wash it thoroughly with warm soap and water EVERY day and it STILL smells of urine. I had to throw it out after the first week. The piddle pads are much easier and do not smell because I use a fresh one daily. Something to consider before you purchase this item …

    I purchased the potty patch and I think it is a good idea, but can anyone help me on housebreaking the dog to the potty patch. My dog is housebroke and does go outside, but does not like the cold and the snow. I need advice.

    I have an American Hairless Terrier who would prefer to go outside but the odd time would rather use the Potty Patch in my Garage.I have changed the set up by taking out the bottom tray and adding an under the bed storage container with clumping cat litter(just set the top and second layer over the litter),Works Great.To get your dog to try it,you could do what i did which is put grass clippings on it. I have tried putting the pee pads between the second and third layer too,worked fine but i find it easier,cheaper and less wasteful using clumping cat litter. You can buy it at the TV Showcase Store in a mall.$50.

    I’m totally disappointed in the potty patch. My advise is not to waste your money. I find no where to post my reviews on this worthless product.

    Reply to Linda Bartley;
    One of my Dogs is a puppy. I trained her to use a litter Box. Just pick up poo and place in litter, and if using pads, try to drain or rub on litter, etc. Then place dog in box if you catch them getting ready to..well you know. Praise, Praise, Praise!!!
    Good Luck! Hope this Helps.
    My Old dog is the main one I was hoping would use the Potty Patch.

    April could have tried lining the potty patch with a potty pad liner to eliminate the smell. I use potty pads but my little dog doesn’t like them. She wants GRASS so I am going to try the potty patch if I can ever get one. They say they are on a 6 week back order.

    I have the potty patch and while I do love the fact that the dogs go on it, and it saves my flooring, it does smell bad. I have taken it outside to wash with soap and the hose and let it dry in the sun. Still the smell lingers. Not a nice smell at all. Not sure what I can do about that. I just wish it was less smelly and I bought the large one so it has two parts to it. Two pans and two liners and one grassy top. Hard in winter when outdoor hoses turned off. In order to encourage the pet to use the potty patch just wipe up some urine from when they go and squeeze it out over the grassy area of the potty patch. They will soon get the hang of it.

    My dog did would not use this product. It is not stable at all and the base and grass slide al over the place. VERY POOR DESIGN. Also. has alot of sharp edges. I don’t think it is a pet friendly product and a dog or puppy will end up getting hurt. Mine is going back. Don’t waste your time or money. Very cheaply made.

    I had high hopes when I bought this product. Iopened the box and the grass pad was full of grass pieces very poorly constructed!!!! I used it on my small yorkie for 1 week it did not work!!!! I threw it away….what a waste of money!!!!!!
